Who we are

The National Free Zone Commission is the public entity created by the Executive Branch through the Decree No.46-91. It is the governing body of the Free Zone Regime. It´s main responsibility is to serve as a promoter and regulator of the Free Zone Regime of Nicaragua.

"Institution which regulates the Free Zone Regime, with highly specialized staff, service-oriented, aimed at promoting and facilitating sustainable and cost-effective investments, of high value added and job generation, in a social and economic responsibility context.”

Vision

“Leaders in the promotion of Free Trade Zones, through the effective job creation, added value and exports, fostering competitiveness and new technologies with high quality service and excellence. "

Functions

Among Its functions includes getting to know, study and evaluate the establishment of new Free Trade Zones, granting operating permits to operators, users and zofas, as well as to participate in the negotiation of agreements and contracts relating to Free Zones.

Board of Directors - CNZF

The National Free Zone Commission is integrated as follows:

  • The Presidential Delegate for promotion of investments and exports.
  • The Minister of Finance and Public Credit
  • The Minister of Development, Industry and Trade
  • The Minister of Labor
  • Two representatives of the superior council of private enterprise

The president of the commission is responsible for the legal representation of the Commission and is appointed by the president of the republic with the rank of minister and is responsible of managing the affairs of the Commission and the coordination, direction and control of operations with powers of General Manager of Administration.
